This year, the ticket price included a one-ring circus. We arrived at the fair just in time for the show, which included acrobats, dogs performing stunts, a trampoline act, and a man twirling ropes that were on fire. Not bad for our little town and more than impressive for our little boys.
Next up were the rides! Ryan has proven himself to be pretty fearless so far. He wanted to try them all, including rides that would make many adults think twice. Thank goodness for height restrictions!
There was one ride where Miles was allowed to tag along. He seemed slightly concerned when the ride began and then appeared ambivalent thereafter. Ryan loved having the company!
After all of that excitement, we were ready for dinner. The boys were introduced to their first corn dogs (Hey, don’t judge! We were at the fair after all!) Here’s what Miles thought about it:
Then we took a quick look at the animals and agriculture displays. We saw horses, pigs, cows, llamas, and chickens. However, the farm equipment stole the show! Even I was ridiculously happy that Ryan got to see a combine harvester up close.
Bedtime was looming, but we shared an ice cream sundae on our way out.
(Note: Although it might seem economical and sweet to share an ice cream sundae because everyone appears healthy, don’t do it! Ryan started vomiting approximately eight hours after this picture was taken. The full extent of this error in judgment has yet to be seen.)
Fall, we welcome you with open and well-layered arms!
