Miles had a great first year of preschool. He went on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for half a day, and it was just the right amount for this laid back homebody. He was quite happy when there, but he definitely likes having mornings where he doesn’t have to rush out the door. Hard to blame him! Since we are holding him back a year in school, we have decided to have him return to the same class next year on a M/W/F schedule. It will ease him into the regular school schedule!
On one of the last days of school, Miles’ teacher coordinated a party for all of the students with a summer birthday. She has a summer birthday herself, so she has a heart for those who miss out on the fun of a class party. They walked to a nearby park, played games, and ate cupcakes.

Abby was happy to join in the cupcake eating!
On the very last day of preschool, I attempted the customary Last Day of School Picture.
No, he wasn’t sad about school ending. He just didn’t want to have his picture taken. There was a line of parents behind me, so I decided not to resort to pleading, bribes, or anything else that would draw attention to us! This posture has been described by a friend as “melting,” and Miles is a huge Melter. Sound effects must be imagined and would include sighing and a drawn out, “Ahhhhh…..” Oh, how we love him!
