Little ones change too quickly for me to wait a year between updates! Caleb is busy, busy, busy. After all, keeping up with three older siblings is hard work!
Caleb now loves playing dress up, as long as it’s on his terms.
Abby and he were in full agreement on this one!
Lovies!
These two are adorable together and can play happily for a long time.
He loves drawing, covering pieces of paper with tiny swirls.
He also enjoys trying to sharpen pens and markers in the pencil sharpener.
Proudly wearing his “cackcack” on the first day of preschool.
He also selected a more artistic pose to the traditional “smile for the camera” one.

Caleb reminds me of…..
Abby, in his extroversion and extreme independence.
Abby 2.5
Miles, in his love of music and snuggling.
Miles 2.5
and Ryan, with his outstanding fine motor skills, desire to put things (and people!) in their proper place, and nonstop exploration of everything.
Jenny 2.5
Paul 2
Of course, Caleb has been a mold-buster from Day One. He has taught us a lot as parents, including humility, patience, and complete surrender of any parenting “rules” we had before. We have done things with him we never have done before – PB&J for dinner every night; full length movies; games on my phone (educational games because we aren’t total barbarians); lemonade (heavily diluted; see prior reasoning) every time he went to the pool; virtually free access to markers and pens (see his clothes or our walls for proof), and middle of the night sippy cups when requested. We acknowledge how terribly stereotypical this is, and hold out hope that the baby of this family will not be totally ruined. After all, I married the baby of Paul’s family, and I think it’s working out just fine.
