While Cooper has not yet been in our family a full year, we can’t imagine life without him. It’s been a huge learning curve for us all, but the benefits of dog ownership definitely outweigh the work! The best decision we made was to choose a Goldendoodle. His temperament, non-shedding coat, and energy level are the right fit for us. The second best decision we made was to work regularly one-on-one with a professional trainer. Each dog has his own unique challenges, and the breed comes with a few, too. We want to be able to enjoy him and don’t want negative behaviors to impact our guests, either. There is still work to be done – he will still flip out if you come for a visit, steal socks, and dig holes in the backyard – but we adore him.
