The last half of July and first half of August were classic summer. We had plenty of relaxed days of happy play and and plenty of long, tortuous days of whiny boredom. We reveled in the cooler temps and lamented the heavy rains. We had weeks that were too busy and weeks that were too slow. We delighted in surprise houseguests for nearly two weeks and then missed them terribly when they said goodbye. In other words, it was everything summer should be - lots of fun but with enough of the other to make you eager for a return to the routines that fall brings!
Celebrating Papa’s birthday at the end of July (not sure what happened to Miles’ shorts!).
In mid-August, Abby started pulling up to kneeling and then standing.
She also finally popped her first two teeth!
With most of our friends in and out of town, there was quite a bit of sibling play.
It was pretty sweet to watch…most of the time!
Our first attempt at pigtails! And guess who’s ten months old, now?!
Watching Daddy and the neighbors do yard work has been
one of Miles’ obsessions this summer.
Ryan’s first day of kindergarten! He’s off to a great start!
Miles’ first day of preschool ever (sniff, sniff)! He’ll go two mornings a week.
Now what in the world am I going to do with all of this extra time (wink, wink)?
