I have good news and more good news! First, Windows Live Writer is working again. Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday to me (and maybe you, too!)! Second, this entry will be jam-packed with all of the pictures and news that have been accumulating in the meantime. It’s a big one!
Before I sorted pictures, I was going to say that June was very low-key for us. There were a good number of home days, where the kids were playing in the backyard in their pajamas by 7:15 a.m. or stormy afternoons were spent building indoor obstacle courses. We’ve visited the pool, met up with friends for a few play dates, checked out piles of library books, and spent special time with the grandparents. It hasn’t felt hurried or overly planned, despite how it may appear below!
~ The second and third weeks of June were unseasonably hot. Staying cool was a priority.
~ I followed through on my plan to include the boys in more housework. For the most part, they have been enthusiastic.
~ Ryan attended an art camp with his amazing art teacher, Jennifer Lipsey Edwards. He loved it and received high praise for his hard work.
~ Play-Doh, kinetic sand, Perler beads, watercolors, and stickers have been wildly popular with all three.
~ We visited the Hands-On Museum in downtown Hendersonville with some friends. I can’t believe we had never been there before. It was well done and offered a variety of activities that appealed to all of the ages represented in our group.

Soda shop date! Abby is about 3 months older than Thatcher,
and they are as cute as can be together. She calls him her
“bwest fwend,” and he calls her “Abbys.”
Expect to see more of these kiddos on the blog. Their mama, Michelle, and I became rapid friends in the fall. We love spending time with them!
~ Abby received her first haircut. She remained stoic throughout. Once it was behind her, she perked right up and became quite the chatterbox. The lollipop certainly didn’t hurt!
~ Last week, the boys enjoyed Vacation Bible School. The theme was the military (think Onward Christian Soldiers), and the boys were proud of the picture and letter they prepared for local veterans.
Ryan voluntarily gave all of the money he had saved ($3.48)
to ABCCM Veteran’s Ministry.
~ We celebrated my dad’s 69th birthday.
~ Abby and I enjoyed a donut date. (Okay, it was really just a bribe to calm her hysteria when dropping the boys off at VBS. “My bruvers! My bruvers!”)
~ And, of course, we’ve lounged around the house plenty, too.
It’s hard to believe that summer is over a third of the way behind us! July is looking quite fun on paper. Stay tuned!
