“Dates” with Daddy

One-on-one time with a parent is a hot commodity around here!  The older boys each enjoyed a special time with Paul during September.

Miles got his night first, when my parents could not use their symphony tickets at the very last minute.  Paul jumped at the opportunity to take Miles for an introduction to live classical music.

He was fascinated by the “city” streets after dark.

During the intermission, Paul asked Miles if he was tired (It was 9 p.m., after all!) and ready to go home.  Miles was stunned by the silliness of such a question!  He soaked up every minute and was praised by many for his good behavior.

Ryan’s turn came this week when Paul’s company had it’s annual employee dinner.  While it did include some business, the main draw for an eight year old was the prime rib dinner, the Color Guard presentation of the flag, fireworks display, and interesting setting.

Even the other parts of the evening “weren’t nearly as boring as I thought they would be,” Ryan reported.  Crayons and a sketchpad helped pass the time:

I know Paul and the boys treasured their time together!
