Our December 2020

Of course, it’s no surprise that it was a quieter Christmas season. The month certainly didn’t feel rushed, and there was ample time for Christmas movies, board games, and days spent in pjs. A week spent quarantining opened up the calendar even more!

Some of our traditions were pandemic-proof, including driving around to see the lights, decorating Christmas cookies, and the kids’ selection of their annual ornaments. We added in an outdoor visit to Biltmore Estate to check out their decorations and burn off some energy. My mom and I even enjoyed a day browsing the shops in Black Mountain. We picked an odd weekday and found the downtown area practically deserted.

Did we miss the holiday parties and performances? Yes and no! While those can certainly be fun, being freed from the weekly cycle of fighting for a babysitter/procuring costumes/buying white elephant gifts/ironing fancy clothes during the busiest month of the year isn’t something I will complain about!
