Early September means one thing here in the mountains – the fair comes to town! Last year, we pulled out jackets and jeans for our family outing. This year, bathing suits would have been more appropriate!
Lots of fun was had regardless of the temperature. We started with the farm animals and equipment. Miles seemed to really enjoy seeing the animals that we read about so much in books. The rides were next. This was Ryan’s favorite part (surprise, surprise). Poor Miles was an inch shy of being able to go on most of the rides, but we found a few where he was allowed. Whew! For the first time, he loved every minute and wanted to go on them all. We watched a little pig and goat racing before lunch and returning home for looooong naps. We even ran into our friends the Breedloves, and our paths crossed several times throughout the morning.
Ryan with friend Sam (Can you tell them apart? We hardly can from behind!)
And for those who wish they were there (a.k.a. the grandparents)….
Now the boys are home re-enacting their morning of fun. Ryan is quite the carny, charging exorbitant ticket prices and rejecting Miles for being too short. Next year, Miles will be big enough to give as good as he gets!
